NEES project activities in the NPP region in Scotland is led by the Sustainable Urban Environment Research Group (SUE-RG) in the School of Engineering and Built Environment at the Glasgow Caledonian University. SUE-RG aims to inform policy and practice through a research-led approach to whole-life sustainability of built assets, from design to demolition and eventual re-use, at scales ranging from individual buildings to neighbourhoods and cities.
The group has expertise in a wide array of built sustainability themes, with particular focus on: building performance, rehabilitation of existing stock to improve energy, carbon and comfort performance, sustainable building materials, fire risk and risk analysis, social and economic performance of buildings and cities, impact of climate change on buildings, urban climate, sustainability assessment and knowledge and process management to deliver sustainability.
